Project Spotlight: From Water Damage to All New Kitchen

When these homeowners experienced a burst pipe causing water damage in their kitchen, they knew they needed to redo the space in its entirety. Instead of looking at the situation as a negative, they decided to take this opportunity to do a complete gut and remodel, inclusive of all new cabinets, new flooring, new countertops, new appliances and an all new layout.

RJE Home worked with the homeowners to create an updated layout for the kitchen, utilizing every inch of the space to its full potential. Check out the transformation below:

Cabinets

We removed the original stained wood cabinets and replaced them with Kemper cabinets in the Echo series. The homeowners chose a maple wood cabinet with the Eksten door style, full overlay finished with an alabaster barn wood glaze. The new cabinets were chosen as they fit in the homeowner’s budget and provided the quality they were looking for.

Countertops

We removed the original granite countertops and replaced them with all new quartz countertops in two complimentary colors. The homeowners chose a black quartz countertop for the space along the walls and a contrasting yet complimentary white with gray veining quartz countertop for the island.

Backsplash

The original backsplash was a 4-inch continuation of the countertop with a larger section right behind the sink and stove. We removed this backsplash and replaced it with a full white and gray porcelain mosaic tile backsplash.

Flooring

The original prefinished cherry hardwood floors were replaced with a large 2’x2’ porcelain floor tile in a white and gray color.

Appliances

All new appliances were purchased for the space from the GE café series, including a refrigerator, gas cooktop and double wall oven.
